Breakfast meet and drive to The Kennels at Goodwood

SUNDAY 19TH JANUARY

T’was a cold and frosty, but sunny, January morning! Today we headed to the exclusive members-only GRRC clubhouse The Kennels for breakfast.

Meeting Up

We first met up in a secret meeting place ready for our convoy south. This sounds like a normal idea for a car meet, but today the temperature was reading Zero and there was ice on the road. Everyone was reminded that their traction control was working today. Most were gingerly arriving at the meet point!

On arrival it was a great opportunity to browse the diverse array of supercars that were in attendance. A great opportunity to catch up with fellow members too.

After a bunch of photos were taken, and two drones had been sent up to capture the frosty morning, we started our engines and headed south through the Hampshire countryside and into West Sussex to arrive at the GRRC Club House, The Kennels.

The Kennels

This beautiful 1787 building that was commissioned by the Duke of Richmond to house his pack of hounds, is the perfect backdrop to an exclusive breakfast.

Off To Goodwood Circuit

Having scoffed down our breakfast, we headed to Goodwood Motor Circuit, just down the road.

By special permission of the circuit, we were allowed a special photo opportunity to display our cars inside the circuit buildings.

After a little organising of the cars into position and a large demonstration of our event photographer, we managed to capture a few elevated photos of our club cars.

Tunnel Run

If the above was not enough for one day, we decided to do a tunnel run for good measure! So off we headed, first back to Four Marks, and then to Hindhead for the infamous Hindhead Tunnel run.

After all the flames and roaring of the supercars, it was time to get a coffee and a cake from the local garden centre. They wondered what was going on when we descended!

It was a very long day and the sun had started to go down when we finally put our cars away!

Many thanks to everyone that attended this event and provided some of the event photos. But a couple of extra special thanks go to our resident photographers Graham & Paul for their usual high quality photos! More special thanks to Daniel for flying his drone into a tree collecting the drone footage, and lastly Tony & Neal for helping set up at the initial meet point.
