We pick up on day 4 of our European tour as we depart Turin heading east towards Salsomaggiore, a small Italian town about an hour from Modena, the provincial home of legendary supercar marques including Ferrari, Pagani, Lamborghini and Maserati!
In part one we explored days 1-3 of the 10 day tour (1 day to represent each year since the club’s beginning). In this blog we follow days 4 to 6 as we journey from Turin to Monte Carlo via the Supercar Mecca of Modena.

Day 4 – Turin, Italy to Salsomaggiore Terme, Italy
After the drivers briefing, we divided into smaller teams before setting off across country towards Modena – a stunning drive through breathtaking landscape……..
A feature of our carefully curated tours is the myriads of tiny quiet towns we visit, pausing to rest and refresh, taking coffee or lunch absorbing the unique atmosphere. warmth of the people and slow pace of life.
Then it’s onwards towards the lights and the 5 Star luxury of our boutique hotel. Tonight would be a grand private dinner bringing together the entire tour party. The Champagne was on ice, and we were keen to get to the hotel.
A fabulous social occasion the perfect opportunity to unwind. enjoy great food and get to know our fellow members.
Day 5 – Rest Day/Explore Day
With a scheduled 2-night stop over, after a delicious breakfast many decided to head off exploring. Some went off to the Ferrari factory and museums.
Another group chose to visit the Lamborghini museum, to take in lunch, and finish with a visit to the Pagani factory.
For others it was all aboard our Mercedes VIP shuttle for a chauffeured trip to Parma home of the famous ham….
Some simply stayed at the spa hotel and took the opportunity to recharge in sumptuous 5-star luxury.
For those on excursions it was time to head back for a lazy evening and the delights of the fabulous hotel facilities, to prepare for day 6…..
Day 6 – Salsomaggiore Terme, Italy to Monte Carlo, Monaco
After another a hearty breakfast and the driver briefing, we set off from Salsomaggiore, heading southwest en-route to the glamour capital of the world….. Monaco.
This was to be extra special; not only were we staying in Monaco, but at the most iconic and glamorous of all Monaco hotels: Hotel de Paris.
Hotel de Paris is a palace, with its own set of rules. First, we needed approval from the local Automobile Association of Monaco to even approach the hotel. Valets were there to park the cars, and luggage can only enter by the service doors so all of ours had to be dropped off in advance!
Hotel de Paris is situated fronting onto the famous Casino Square, and the road that separates the hotel from the casino forms part of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit.
For the evening, we split into groups with some couples electing to make the most of what is surely one of the romantic places on earth!
Another group took to the cars and drove the F1 circuit including a blast through the famous tunnel section! Lets just say it wasn’t quiet in the tunnel that night!
