We rejoin the tour leaving Girona for Vielha in the mountains, then onto Toulouse in France…
In part 1 we explored days 1-5 where we kicked off at Champneys 5 Star Hotel & Spa and then set off into France, down past Reimes and into Lyon. We then departed Lyon and headed down to St Tropez on the southern coast. It was then across to Girona in Spain for a two day stop over.
The tour team of Greg, Stuart, Hans & Jason were joined this year by the two Joshes of our tour media partner Kenekt Studios, who were on hand to capture the fun in ultra HD!

Day 6 – From Girona, Spain to Vielha, Spain

As we leave Girona, we travel west and up into The Pyrenees to our mountain-top hotel in Vielha. To say the backdrop was dramatic has to be the understatement of the year!
Incredible roads and stunning scenery were certainly a sensory overload! To see the mountain range with its snow-capped peaks was something to behold.

As we came into Vielha we headed to our next hotel for the night in the mountains. This hotel, a ski lodge in the winter time, we pretty much had to ourselves. The usual reserved parking just for our cars.
Situated high up on the mountains with far-reaching views across the valley and to the snow-capped mountains in the distance.

The rest of the afternoon is spent relaxing in this luxury hotel and spa. We took over the lounge and Ferrari driver Matt showed us some of his skills as a pianist!

After dinner, we were delighted to include a sneak preview presentation of our 2025 10th Anniversary Mega Tour as well as club member legend Matt K showing us his skills as a magician.

Day 7 – From Vielha, Spain to Toulouse, France

After breakfast it was time to get back in the cars and leave Spain, bound for Toulouse, France.
Some took a sneaky opportunity to give their cars a quick freshen up, but shhhh don’t tell the others!

It was time to set off again, we had another great day of driving ahead. Across the Pyrenees and down into France.

Rest stops are often some of the most enjoyable parts of any of our tours. A chance to describe the route they just enjoyed and of course some inevitable banter that’s always a prerequisite on our tours!

Photos simply don’t do it justice but one club member does their best to ‘bottle’ the view on their phone, whilst some of the boys gather for a boys-only photo to remember this stop by.

As we drop down into France we once again head to a 5 star hotel, this time, right in the heart of the city. This one, ultra modern.
Some decided to go out for dinner, some stayed in the luxury hotel restaurant and a few brave club members decided to try out the ‘Dark Restaurant’.

The dark restaurant was something like no other experience! The room is pitch black where blind waiters take you to your seat and serve you your 3 course meal with 3 different wines. Very reliant on your hands to feel your way to drink your wine and eat your food, it is a wonderful way to really focus your touch, feel and taste senses while eating and drinking.
We had no idea what we were eating or drinking and at the end of the evening, we took it in turns to guess what each course was and what ingredients were used. A really fun and unique experience.
This concludes part 2 of our 2024 European Tour. Stay tuned for part 3 which will conclude our blog for this year’s tour which will include our next stop in the French city of Tours where we stay at a fairytale castle for one final night before heading back to the UK.

We will cover this and more in our next instalment. Watch this space for more!
