Day 8 – From Toulouse, France to Tours, France

As the tour matures, everyone is totally relaxed with the driving now and the roads heading north are a leisurely and relaxed experience, taking in the views as we pass across country.
Incredible roads and stunning scenery continued as we pass through Loire Valley wine region and get closer to our final hotel of the tour, a fairytale castle, or Château as the French refer to them.

After a leisurely lunch, we make the final stint to the chateau. This Renaissance château is a former royal residence and has its origins in the 13th century and was finished 300 years later.
As always, the team were already at the hotel ready with room keys to make the experience that much more luxurious.
On arrival, there was plenty of time for our guests to explore the grounds and use the facilities before our grand Champagne reception dinner.
This reception took place on their private terrace overlooking the valley.

It was the perfect opportunity for our guests to reflect on the incredible journey we have all shared, the mountain passes, the evenings, the food & drink, the laughter and banter that has made our 2024 Euro Tour!
So much had taken place it was easy to forget key events if you weren’t careful!

It’s difficult to overstate the level of friendships formed and deepened across the guests as spending this much time together, even the socially nervous ones were able to come out of their skins, relax and flourish in the camaraderie.

Another private dining experience at the château this time was in a beautifully elegant and historic dining room in the centre of the castle, overlooking our private terrace on one side and the iconic courtyard on the other.

After a relaxed and intimate evening, it was time to rest our heads for the final time before heading back to the UK.

On departure, we split into groups to take in some final tourist hot spots, such as this, another showstopper of a fairytale château.

Some took the world-famous Le Mans circuit to drive the infamous Mulsanne straight and iconic bends.

Or the emotionally moving D-Day memorial

After we’d maxed out our day, it was time to head to the coast and board our ferry back to the UK.

This was a relaxing rest for the whole group and we saved precious miles on the cars. It was also an opportunity to watch the sun go down over the sea as we headed back to the UK.
That concludes this year’s European Tour, thank you for taking an interest. We look now to our Welsh Weekender later in the year
