Another invite to a brand new event, and brand new venue for FMSC, came from Santa Pod, who were putting together a new supercar event feature: Revv’d Up!
The weather held off, which always helps when you’ve got a whole roster of seriously quick metal ready to tear up the tarmac. The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing, a real mix of the serious gearheads and families just out for a fantastic day.
The sheer variety on display was incredible, from gleaming classics that felt like they’d just rolled off the showroom floor to some truly wild custom builds that made you do a double-take. It was a proper feast for the senses, with the low rumble of idling engines a constant backdrop to the excited chatter of the crowds.
But the real highlight for us, beyond just admiring the machinery, was seeing some of our own club members get out there and actually run the drag strip. There’s a world of difference between watching a car blast down the quarter-mile and actually being in the hot seat, feeling that incredible surge of acceleration as the lights drop.
A few of our more daring souls strapped themselves in, and you could feel the collective anticipation in our group as each one staged their car. The roar of engines, the sudden release of power, and then that incredible, almost physics-defying rush down the strip – it was truly exhilarating to witness.
It wasn’t just about personal bests, though I’m sure a few new ones were set! It was about the camaraderie, the shared passion for speed, and the sheer thrill of putting these incredible machines through their paces in a safe, controlled environment.
Whether you were in the stands cheering, or behind the wheel feeling the g-forces, Revved Up at Santa Pod truly delivered. It’s those kinds of experiences, where our members can truly unleash what their cars are capable of, that really make these events special. Definitely one for the memory books, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!
