Catching Up with Design Royalty: Our Exclusive Return to CALLUM Designs

There is always a special kind of buzz in the air when the Four Marks Supercar Club gets together, but our recent return visit to CALLUM Designs took that excitement to a whole new level.

As is our long-standing club tradition, we kicked the day off with a fantastic pre-tour lunch. It’s our favourite ritual—a relaxed opportunity to grab some great food, catch up with friends, and enjoy the usual paddock banter before the main event. Sharing a meal while our cars rested in reserved parking was the perfect, laid-back prelude to an afternoon dedicated to pure automotive excellence.

Stepping into the CALLUM facility, we were once again warmly welcomed by the man himself, Sir Ian Callum. For anyone who might need a quick refresher on their motoring history, Ian is nothing short of petrolhead royalty. He is the visionary designer responsible for penning some of the most beautiful and iconic sports cars of the modern era.

From shaping the legendary Aston Martin DB7, DB9, and Vanquish, to completely redefining Jaguar’s design language with masterpieces like the F-Type, his influence is unmatched. Standing in the presence of someone who has had such a profound impact on the cars we drive and love is an experience that simply never gets old.

What makes visiting this facility so extraordinary isn’t just the cutting-edge tech, but the incredibly personal touch. Ian generously led us on a private, guided tour through the inner workings of his design studio and the bustling workshop.

Walking through these spaces with the founder himself, we got a firsthand look at where raw imagination is meticulously transformed into physical reality. It is a rare and thrilling privilege to see the sketches, the modelling, and the bespoke engineering solutions up close, long before the rest of the world gets to see them.

As we walked the floor, Ian casually regaled us with brilliant stories and memories from his decades at the very top of the industry. Hearing the behind-the-scenes anecdotes of how some of history’s most famous cars came to be was absolute gold. Yet, he didn’t just dwell on the past; his passion was most evident when discussing his vision for CALLUM’s current builds and future endeavours.

Listening to his insights on blending classic elegance with forward-thinking innovation proved exactly why his independent consultancy is producing such breathtaking, boundary-pushing vehicles today.
