We were delighted to be invited by our club sponsor Base Performance Simulators to come and try out their professional grade racing simulators.

With a limit on spaces, we offered the opportunity to 12 of our male and female VIP members to allow them to test out their track skills in the simulators developed by three-time Le Mans winning Aston Martin factory driver, Darren Turner.

With the members coming from all over the country a few meet points were arranged for our members to convoy to their facility in Banbury near Silverstone.

On arrival we were welcomed by the team that would be running the simulators and providing expert guidance to get the best times out of everyone with a breakfast of pastries and coffees.

The Four Marks members then broke off into two groups – the first group heading to their GT racing simulator, the second group heading to their full motion single seater simulator. Each group then spent several laps on track in two separate sessions.

The simulators showing their worth when everyone, including the seasoned track day racers, showed a marked improvement in times from their first drive to their last.

After racing several laps of the Red Bull race circuit we stopped for a fantastic lunch put on by Base Performance simulators before the teams swapped over to try out the other simulator.

After several extremely competitive laps, the victors were announced. A quick photo then we headed home trying desperately not to use the experience gained on the journey home.
