Breakfast at Scuderia Prestige in Surrey

We head to supercar and luxury car specialist Scuderia Prestige based in Camberley, Surrey for complimentary breakfast and a charity racing simulator competition in aid of our club charity Alzheimer’s Society.

Club member Phil S tells us about his experience in his own words.

For those of us who ventured to Scuderia Prestige in Camberley, Surrey on a crisp, winter morning, we had the pleasure of walking around £7.5 million pounds worth of kit.

That was the rough value of the cars in the showroom, the car park, that had around 40 of the club cars, was almost as impressive.

The day started with almost clear skies, we had freezing temperatures, especially if you were starting your engines before 8 am this morning.

It was a cold and frosty morning as club members gathered for the curated and spirited drive
“We often use the word “spirited” when it comes to club drives. It certainly was this morning!” Phil S

Greg has also unearthed a great secret meeting point, in north Hampshire. They were very welcoming, even at 7.30 am!

Club member and resident ‘Route Master’ Paul J had obviously spent some time researching the route to Camberley. We often use the word “spirited” when it comes to club drives. It certainly was this morning! I was following Petro B in his Aston Martin AMR Vantage and decided the crackle from his Aston was better than listening to Magic FM. Or was that the sound of the ice breaking on those untreated roads?

We were made very welcome by the Scuderia Prestige team and as well as the cars on display we had pastries, tea, and coffee. As for the racing sim I have a confession to make……the adrenalin was still rushing through my veins from the early morning drive, I really didn’t need any more excitement!

Who won? See below for the full results!

A couple of mentions, great to see Neal H who had a nasty Covid experience over Christmas, and David R who was having his first day out since before Christmas.

My favourite car at the showroom?……well I have to admit that I was fooled. The GT40 (the original style, not the awesome Ford GT that they also had in the showroom) was in fact a replica. Not bad though, a Rover V8 engined Dax replica, it is just under £90K if you’re interested.

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a car that I may have to own at some point as well.

Meanwhile, Happy New Year everyone, see you again soon, Phil

Charity Racing Simulator Challenge

Scuderia Prestige has their own full wrap-around racing simulator and we thought it would be rude not to throw down the gauntlet in aid of charity and see who could punch in the fastest lap time. Plenty of competitive spirit meant that between club members and then Scuderia Prestige matching whatever we raised, we have added another £280 for our chosen charity Alzheimer’s Society. This brings our new total to a not insignificant £5,485 so far!

If you would like to make a donation to this very worthy cause, please head to our Just Giving page where you can donate £1 to £1,000.
