🏞️ British Beast Mode: The First Four Marks Luxury SUV Tour!
What an spectacular way to kick off another club first! We recently gathered the pack for our inaugural Luxury SUV Tour, a multi-day epic journey from the iconic Caffeine & Machine: The Hut all the way to Land’s End and back home. The club members swapped out their high performance supercars for their more wintery weather luxury SUV!

The adventure began in classic Four Marks style, with most participants joining us for a massive breakfast at C&M, filling The Hut with the anticipation (and the awesome rumble) of some serious luxury horsepower. After a thorough driver briefing mapping out the epic route ahead, it was time for the convoy of performance SUVs—a breathtaking sight to behold—to roll out and head west.

The morning drive was a command performance, a continuous display of automotive dominance as we snaked our way through gorgeous countryside. To keep everyone refreshed and the conversations flowing, we made a perfectly timed coffee stop before pushing further into the West country.

By midday, we had arrived at a fabulous location for a delicious lunch stop, allowing us to refuel both our bodies and our passengers before the final push into Cornwall. The sight of our club’s finest SUVs lined up at every stop was a testament to the fact that power and prestige are not limited to low-slung supercars!

The afternoon provided the ultimate treat. After a few more miles of stunning scenic roads, we arrived at a vast, decommissioned abandoned airfield! This was the ultimate playground for our high-riding machinery. Members had the incredible opportunity to safely open up their vehicles on the open concrete, testing the limits of acceleration and handling that few SUVs ever get to experience. It was pure, unadulterated high-octane fun, watching the SUVs play on an industrial scale.
We also learned a very valuable lesson about club events: sometimes the most memorable moments are the unexpected ones! We won’t mention exactly which member’s highly capable Mercedes (clears throat) club support vehicle managed to find the only bit of soft ground on the entire airfield and get itself slightly… permanently embedded, but it certainly added a moment of comedy and some excellent club teamwork to get it free!

After our little airfield play session—and once the club support vehicle was safely back on solid ground!—we fired up the engines and continued our journey west toward our overnight halt. But because no true road trip is complete without a minor plot twist, the irony of the day struck: the absolute most rugged, off-road-ready SUV among our elite convoy managed to pick up a puncture! True to the Four Marks spirit, it was an immediate “all hands on deck” situation. The team rallied together on the roadside, turning what could have been a frustrating delay into a brilliant display of club camaraderie. With a healthy dose of teamwork (and plenty of sideline commentary), we made light work of the wheel change and were back on the road in no time.

With the rubber sorted, we made one final, glorious push into Cornwall, eventually arriving at our breathtaking destination: a stunning 5-star hotel perched right on the edge of the iconic Fistral Beach in Newquay. After a full day of serious driving and airfield antics, checking into such a luxurious coastal sanctuary was the ultimate reward. Before the evening kicked off, it was the perfect opportunity to stretch our legs, breathe in the salty Cornish air, and take a relaxing stroll down to the sea to watch the waves roll in.

As night fell, we all gathered to swap out steering wheels for silverware at a spectacular group dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, but as is always the case with this community, it was the people that truly made the evening. The table was alive with our signature club banter, recounting the day’s highest speeds and lowest grip moments. With so much laughter echoing around the room, the hours simply flew by.

To cap off an epic first day on the road, the group wound down in their own ways. Some opted to sink into the plush chairs of the hotel lounge for a relaxing nightcap, while others ventured back out onto the sand to take in the serene beauty of the beach under a canopy of starlight. It was the perfect end to a perfect driving day, leaving us all rested and ready for the journey to Land’s End the following morning.

After a restful night serenaded by the Cornish waves, day two kicked off in the best way possible: a delicious, leisurely breakfast overlooking Fistral Beach. With plenty of hot coffee and a hearty morning feed to fuel us up, we fired up the fleet once again. The anticipation was high as our convoy of luxury SUVs rolled out of Newquay, setting our sat-navs for the ultimate destination of our tour: the legendary Land’s End.

For those who haven’t made the pilgrimage, Land’s End is a bucket-list destination for any driving enthusiast. As the extreme westerly point of mainland England, it boasts dramatic, wave-battered granite cliffs and sweeping views out across the Celtic Sea.
It’s a place steeped in myth and maritime history, famously serving as the iconic starting (or finishing) line for the epic 874-mile journey across the entire length of Great Britain to John o’ Groats. Arriving at such a significant geographical landmark in a convoy of top-tier, high-performance SUVs felt like a brilliant nod to that rich British touring heritage.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, either. We were greeted by glorious, beaming sunshine—the absolute perfect lighting to line up the cars and grab some official team photos against the stunning coastal backdrop. Well, a team photo of most of us, anyway! In true club fashion, a few members of the gang had gone completely AWOL, likely distracted by the epic views or the irresistible lure of a proper Cornish pasty! Once we finally managed to herd the group back together, we sat down to enjoy some well-earned refreshments in the sun and a good laugh about our missing VIPs.

Thirsts quenched and cameras full of memories, we climbed back into the luxurious cabins of our machines for the afternoon leg. We traded the rugged coast for some seriously scenic cross-country driving, effortlessly navigating the winding Cornish lanes.

No Cornish adventure would be complete without visiting the famously picturesque fishing village of Mousehole, and our arrival certainly turned a few heads! We managed the incredible feat of lining up our stunning convoy right along the historic harbor wall, creating a spectacular contrast of modern luxury automotive engineering against the quaint, traditional stone cottages. With the cars safely parked, we headed straight for a highly anticipated, quintessential seaside lunch at a local fish and chip restaurant.
However, this particular pitstop became unforgettable for a completely different reason: mid-meal, one of our fantastic guests—who also happens to be a registered NHS first responder—suddenly received an emergency call for a medical crisis just up the road! Without hesitation, they sprang into action, leaving their lunch behind to rush out and help someone in dire need. It was an incredibly proud, heart-in-mouth moment for the club, proving once again that our Four Marks community isn’t just about phenomenal cars, but truly phenomenal people.

Back on the road after lunch, a highlight of the return journey was rolling our impressive convoy onto the historic King Harry Ferry. Floating our spectacular lineup of premium SUVs across the picturesque River Fal on a chain ferry was a brilliantly unique experience! Once we touched down on the eastern bank, we turned the compass north, enjoying a spirited, sweeping drive back to the comfort of our Newquay hotel for another evening of great food and even better company.

Arriving back at the hotel just in time to see the sun go down which treated us to a magnificent sunset!
Back at our coastal sanctuary for night two, the evening was all about freedom of choice. After two days of driving as a pack, members had the opportunity to choose their own culinary adventures for dinner. Many opted to stay put and indulge in the exquisite, 5-star cooking our hotel had to offer, while others ventured out into Newquay to sample the local restaurant scene. But no matter where the evening started, it was only a matter of time before the gravitational pull of the club brought everyone back together in the hotel lounge for a well-earned round of drinks, catching up, and plenty of giggles.

It was during these drinks that the true evening’s entertainment began. One of our guest couples casually let slip that they had been assigned a room tucked right up in the very loft of the hotel. Naturally, the club’s curiosity was piqued, and a spontaneous “viewing party” was immediately dispatched to investigate these top-floor quarters! As you’ll see in the above photo, the banter reached new heights—literally. Greg simply couldn’t resist the urge to check the ceiling hatch for “monsters in the loft.” To achieve this highly technical security check, let’s just say a comically questionable and very unsafe method of boosting him up was deployed! It was a hilarious, chaotic end to the day that perfectly summed up the incredible, fun-loving spirit of our community.

After another luxurious night’s sleep and a first-class breakfast overlooking the waves, it was time to pack up the SUVs and officially begin our journey back east. However, we weren’t quite finished with Cornwall just yet! Our route home included a couple of very important, non-negotiable pitstops. First up was the highly picturesque coastal town of East Looe. For any members who had somehow managed to go the entire trip without sampling a traditional Cornish Pasty or a scoop of proper Cornish Ice Cream, this was their final, crucial opportunity to tick those vital items off the bucket list! It was a brilliant, relaxed social stop, allowing us to soak up the last of the seaside atmosphere before getting back behind the wheel.

Hitting the road once more, we enjoyed another stint of stunning cross-country driving, watching the landscapes shift as our convoy effortlessly chewed through the miles. Our final official destination of the tour was an absolute hidden gem: a spectacular restaurant set entirely on board converted vintage train carriages! This wonderfully unique and intimate setting was the perfect backdrop for the gang to gather one last time. We shared a fantastic, tasty lunch filled with a final, roaring session of club banter, recounting the highlights (and the hilarious loft-checking lowlights) of the past few days. With full stomachs and even fuller memories, it was finally time to share some hugs and say our goodbyes before the pack split off to head home.
This inaugural Luxury SUV Tour was an absolute triumph—a perfect blend of epic roads, stunning machinery, and a community that feels more like family. Whether we are carving through coastal lanes or laughing over lunch in a train carriage, this is what the Four Marks lifestyle is all about.
