Porsche 911 992.2 GTS Evening | Hampshire

Thanks to our friends at Porsche Centre Portsmouth, we were invited to come along and hear all about the new 911 992 GTS. The evening would be spent at the beautiful Exton Park Vineyard in Southampton, Hampshire.

Exton Park Vineyard is a notable English sparkling wine producer situated in the beautiful Meon Valley, within Hampshire’s South Downs.

It distinguishes itself as a single-estate vineyard, emphasizing quality and the unique terroir of its 60-acre chalk soil location, which bears similarities to the Champagne region in France.

The vineyard is known for its dedication to sustainable practices, incorporating eco-friendly approaches in its winemaking process.

The new Porsche 911 992.2 GTS marks a significant step in the 911’s evolution, most notably with the introduction of a new T-Hybrid powertrain.

This system combines a newly developed 3.6-liter flat-six engine with an electric motor integrated into the PDK transmission, and an electrically assisted turbocharger.

This setup is geared towards enhancing performance, providing a noticeable boost in power and responsiveness while minimizing turbo lag. This makes the new GTS exceptionally quick, with improved acceleration times.

Beyond the powertrain, the 992.2 GTS features refined styling and updated technology. Visually, subtle changes include redesigned front fascia with active aerodynamic elements and updated lighting.

The interior receives a modern digital driver experience, highlighted by a curved digital instrument cluster. However, Porsche have also kept some traditional aspects, giving the user the option of displaying a traditional rev counter.

The integration of enhanced connectivity features, such as improved Apple CarPlay, also contributes to a more contemporary driving environment.

In terms of performance, the T-Hybrid system delivers a substantial increase in power, resulting in quicker acceleration and enhanced driving dynamics. The focus is on providing a thrilling driving experience while also improving efficiency.

Features like standard rear-axle steering further contribute to the car’s agility and stability. Overall, the 992.2 GTS represents a blend of Porsche’s iconic 911 characteristics with cutting-edge hybrid technology, creating a high-performance sports car for the modern era.

We’d like to thank the team at Porsche Centre Portsmouth for the invite and your hospitality. If you’d like to find out more about this, or any of the other Porsche models, send a no obligation enquiry using the form here.
