We were invited by our friends at Boat Club Trafalgar to come out on some of their fleet of boats. Membership allows you to use different boats which makes it the perfect alternative to boat ownership.

Boat Club Trafalgar, established in 2016, offers a refreshing alternative to traditional boat ownership, operating on a membership-based boat sharing model.
Located in Portsmouth, Hampshire, with a sister club, Northshore Boat Club, in Itchenor for Chichester Harbour, it aims to make boating more accessible, affordable, and hassle-free. The core idea is to remove the burdens of boat ownership – such as maintenance, insurance, storage, and depreciation – allowing members to simply turn up and enjoy their time on the water.

Members gain unlimited access to a versatile fleet of modern, high-quality powerboats and RIBs, which are meticulously maintained, cleaned, and fuelled by the club’s staff. This means no more worries about mooring fees, winterization, or unexpected repair costs.
The fleet is carefully selected to cater to a variety of uses, from high-energy Solent adventures to relaxed harbour cruising. Furthermore, Boat Club Trafalgar is part of the larger Trafalgar Group, which also encompasses drystack storage, marinas, boat sales, and an RYA approved Powerboat Training Centre, offering a comprehensive marine service ecosystem.

Beyond just providing boats, Boat Club Trafalgar fosters a community spirit. They offer RYA Powerboat Level 2 training as part of the membership, ensuring members are competent and confident on the water. They also arrange social events, guided trips, and cruises in company, allowing members to connect with like-minded individuals and explore new cruising grounds.
It’s an ideal solution for those who love the idea of boating but are constrained by time, finances, or the complexities of ownership, providing a truly “turn up and go” experience on the water.

We’d like to say a huge thanks all those that participated and that came along but special mentions to Andy M who helped arrange the event and to Michael Guy who captured the event photos.
